Original oil over acrylic painting on canvas, 24" x 24", 2024.
A group of wild horses moves through golden grass, their coats catching the light as they make their way toward the open landscape. Trees punctuate the field, and soft green mountains rise beneath a wide, cloud-filled sky.
Inspired by my firsthand visit to a Utah Herd Management Area, The Equestrian Trip captures the horses as I wanted to remember them: together, in motion, and free to follow the land ahead. Layers of oil over acrylic lend energy and depth to this original impressionistic landscape.
