High Tide on an Auckland Beach

A rising tide washes over the dark rocks of an Auckland beach, sending ribbons of white water down their sculptural surfaces. Turquoise and sea-green tones move between the rocks, while the open horizon and luminous sky bring a sense of calm to the powerful coastal scene.

In High Tide on an Auckland Beach, I wanted to hold both sides of the sea: its force as it surges against the shore and the quiet beauty of light moving across water. Layered brushwork gives this original seascape its motion and depth.

The painting is signed on the front and back and comes with a certificate of authenticity. The canvas sides are painted in a neutral tone to complement the artwork. It ships rolled in a tube and will need to be stretched onto stretcher bars by a frame shop.
