Aurora Mandala | Colorful Mandala Art

Created with Caran d’Ache crayons, 12" x 18", 2018.

This colorful mandala art unfolds from a closely gathered center into an expansive rhythm of radiating forms. Small green and yellow shapes give way to elongated marks in orange, red, pink, and gold. Dark green lines connect the vibrant passages, while visible crayon strokes give the composition texture and energy.

Drawing on the mandala’s traditional meaning as a symbolic representation of the universe, the work invites contemplation of the relationship between a center and the many forms surrounding it. Each mark contributes to a larger whole, offering a visual expression of connection through repetition and variation.

The composition holds concentration and expansion together. Its intricate center invites close attention, while the outward movement of color suggests growth and unfolding possibility.
